Progress continues on the Corridor Plan for improvements to South Main Street/US 23 Business extending from the Smoky Mountain Expressway along Hyatt Creek Road to South Main Street and along South Main Street to Ninevah Road.  The lead consulting firm, La Quatra Bonci Associates, has submitted a final draft of the plan which was adopted by the Waynesville Board of Aldermen on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 (available here).  The plan calls for roadway widening, intersection improvements, sidewalks, bike lanes, medians and landscaping.  Click (here) to view the plan map.
