WATER CONSERVATION

"When the well is dry, we know the worth of water."
Benjamin Franklin

Although Waynesville may not be experiencing quite as severe a situation with water shortages as some of our neighbors to the west and in other parts of North Carolina, we encourage residents to use water efficiently at all times.  Small conservation efforts can make a big difference.

Every drop counts.
Report leaks in lavatory sinks, toilets or drinking water fountains to building managers;
Use a minimal amount of water while washing your hands or completing work tasks;
Use leftover melted beverage ice to water your office plants;
Sweep instead of using a hose to clean; and
Remember to conserve water at home as well.
