The Town of Waynesville Fire Department plans to perform water flow tests on fire hydrants beginning on Monday, June 5, 2006.  This work will continue over the next two months.  The fire hydrants in Waynesville's fire district are then color coded in order for the Fire Department to automatically know how much pressure is available in each area.  This testing is done annually and helps to keep fire insurance rates low.

As this work is being done your water may at times become discolored.  If this happens, turn the water faucet on and let the water run for a few minutes until it clears up.  Thank you for your patience while this work is being done.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
