HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION

The Historic Preservation Commission was created to perform the duties of regulating historic landmarks and historic districts. A majority of the members shall have demonstrated special interest, experience, or education in history, architecture, archaeology or related fields. Members must reside within the land use area of Waynesville. The Commission consists of nine (9) members. Terms of appointment are for four (4) years with an appointment date of January 31. Meetings are on the first Wednesday of each month at 2:00 p.m. in the Municipal Building meeting room at 16 South Main Street in Waynesville.

 

Members of this commission include: Herbert Nelson, Jr., Peter Sterling, Nikki Owens, Bob Kearney, Shawn Leatherwood, Sandra Owen, David Felmet, Jr. and Bette Sprecher. There is currently one vacancy on the Historic Preservation Commission.
