TOWN HALLWaynesville's Municipal Building was constructed in 1917 as the first U. S. Post Office in Waynesville. It served in this capacity until 1966 when it was purchased by the Town of Waynesville to serve as its Municipal Building/Town Hall. Interior renovations were completed in 1989. The brick, two story structure is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The offices of Administration and Human Resources are located in the Municipal Building located at 16 South Main Street,. The Finance Department Offices, including utilities and tax collector which were located in the Municipal Building for many years are now located at 280 Georgia Avenue. Planning, Zoning and the Public Works Director are located across the street in the Police/Development/Town Hall Building located at 9 South Main Street in Waynesville. The Board of Aldermen conduct their meetings in the Board Room of the Police/Development/Town Hall Building on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. |
