Voluntary Water Restrictions |
|
|
Beginning November 3, 2008, the Town of Waynesville requests that all customers immediately reduce water consumption. All water customers of the Town of Waynesville, which includes customers of the Junaluska Sanitary District and Lake Junaluska Assembly, are being asked to voluntarily conserve water. Our water source is a 500 million gallon reservoir which captures the water from the 8,600 acre Waynesville Watershed. Due to the ongoing drought, the reservoir is currently four feet below full pond. Once the reservoir reaches this level, the Town's Water Shortage Response Plan allows the Mayor to call for voluntary reductions.
